Nestled in the foothills of the Santa Lucia Mountains, the 400-acre Carmel Valley Ranch is a golfer's paradise. The 18-hole "De Laveaga" course at the De Laveaga Golf Course facility in Santa Cruz, California features 6,010 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 70 and it has a slope rating of 136. Designed by Bert Stamps/(R)Halsey Daray Golf, Inc., the De Laveaga golf course opened in 1970.
The magnificence of the Monterey Peninsula is reflected in 18 holes that once formed part of a historic California land grant rancho. With typical Jones artistry, this spectacular venue features many elevated tees and a bevy of strategically placed bunkers that guard almost every green.
The 6,357 yard West Course will test your golfing skills. Fairways range from deceptively broad to needle narrow as you traverse the Carmel River three different times. On the back nine, lofty stands of cottonwood and sycamore trees await errant shots. Sophisticated golfers will love this layout!

This beautiful course is located in the countryside. The small greens are fast, and the narrow fairways are tree lined. Water hazards come into play on six holes, plus sand bunkers are spread throughout the course. The feature hole is #18, a short, downhill 280-yard, par 4, which has a lake guarding the entire front of the green, making for a tough approach.
